About the Sandy LaBauve Spirit Award

In 1989, LPGA*USGA Girls Golf founder Sandy LaBauve set out on a mission to help introduce girls in her community to the sport that she was extremely passionate about. More than twenty-five years later, whatbegan as a labor of love for Sandy’s local Girl Scouts troop has grown into an international Girls Golf movement, providing access for girls to learn and enjoy this transformative game with other girls just like them!

Thanks to Sandy’s vision, more than 500 devoted program directors, instructors, and volunteers dedicate their time to following in her footsteps to empower and inspire the lives of young women through the game of golf.

By planning, organizing and implementing Girls Golf clinics, tournaments, field trips, social activities (and so much more) the men and women who run and serve at local Girls Golf programs across the country share their passion each and every day by providing girls with quality and memorable experiences that not only impact their lives but help to shape their futures.

The Sandy LaBauve Spirit Award honors an individual who has gone above and beyond to inspire the lives of juniors through their passion and dedication to empowering girls through golf.
