This past Saturday, we had a great time with our Girls Golf members at the First Tee of North Florida. We hosted a “Big Break” themed skills challenge for over 30 girls, ranging from 5 – 14 years old!
They got to experience the Five’s E’s and try their hand at the fun games we set up for them which not only get them energized, but aimed to help them hone their short game skills.
The Tower of Power at the full swing station (Empower) and the Leap frog station in the bunker (Exercise) gave the girls a challenge, but they conquered hitting the targets at the chipping station (Engage); putting through the targets at the putting (Enrich) station; and feeding our hungry pink hippo at the pitching station (Energize).
These Florida girls proved to be real troopers. Not only did they manage to have a blast during the clinic which to my surprise was hosted on a day that got up to 90 degree temperatures (this is typical Florida fall weather from what I’ve learned ), but they stayed and played in a nine hole scramble afterwards!
A big thanks to our Jacksonville members who showed this Ohio native that it’s never to hot to have a great time playing golf! You know what they say, “Girls just want to have fun!”
