During our August meeting, the Long Beach Girls Golf program recreated the 2016 Rio Olympic experience. The event began with the girls representing the USA while marching around the putting green in their red, white, and blue swag.  The Olympic torch even made an appearance (not the real one).

After opening ceremonies, the girls started their quest for Olympic gold on the putting green.   The girls were split into two age groups, and they faced off in four challenging holes of mini golf. After several intense putt offs, the Olympians battled it out on the chipping green with a closest to the pin competition.  With two epic events behind them, there was no fluffing around for the Olympians as they headed into their final event on the driving range.  The Olympians battled it out in a marshmallow long drive competition.

After all the events concluded, medals were awarded, anthems were played (“The Star Spangled Banner”, of course), and all the girls took part in a victorious closing ceremonies.  Overall a great time was had by all who attended, and most importantly lasting memories were made.
